4 Stories About Life We Still Believe In

Our reality is a reflection of the thoughts and attitudes that exist in our head. Perhaps by changing them, your life will begin to take a completely different shape.
Here are 4 stories that could be told differently:

1. A story that begins like this: you have to be happy. Constantly.
Happiness is a catching word and it is something  we pursue. But to think that a person should be happy and positive all the time is like believing in only one color, for example, yellow.
For emotional stability, sometimes we may need gray or black, and in general, most often we mix different colors - this is more interesting.
How to fix it: accept your sadness, anger, pain and other dark emotions, they also have the right to exist. Psychologists advise accepting even the most unpleasant feelings in order to quickly cope with a depressed state.

2. A story that begins like this: doing what you want is selfish
Many of us feel wrong when we want to do something that only we like. Because of this attitude, we put aside our true desires and bold ideas, we postpone them for “later”, when we first deal with the problems of our friends, relatives, and children.

How to fix it: we forget that only through internal harmony comes external harmony. Be honest with yourself and don't be afraid to express yourself. By adapting to others, their opinions and requests, we put on more and more social masks that prevent the true and unique “I” from appearing
3. A story that begins like this: I will be happy when...
In our society, we have a cult of mass consumption, when things have become symbols of success, style, education, and love needs to be proved with gifts, which are actively imposed on us from TV screens and smartphones.
Sales of antidepressants and sedatives increased by an average of 12-15% in 2019, because the new car, the latest smartphone model and branded things no longer help fill the void and do not bring happiness.
Our mind constantly gives us thoughts that as soon as we lose weight, accumulate the necessary amount of money, meet our "soul mate", we will be happy.
How to fix it: concentrate on what you have and what is happening at the moment. Make plans, but do not forget about the present moment and about values that are not bought in the store. These tips will help you deal with the feeling of emptiness inside.

"Life is what happens to you while you make plans for life."
- John Lennon-

4. A story that begins like this: giving up means losing.
Very often we don’t see the difference between “giving up” and “losing”. Therefore, we are so reluctant to let go of people, situations, habits, and faith in something bright and useful.
How to fix it: learn to be more flexible, change perception and close doors. We are often told to not give up and go till the very end, but what if this path is not ours at all? Does he really have to be so complicated and thorny? Perhaps it is better to find a path than trying to break head through the wall.

Look at these beliefs once again. Which ones hold you back? Try changing the plot and watching how things begin to develop in a completely different way.
