Perfection does not exist. Aspiring to be perfect is a battle against the windmills, lost at the very start and ending with the same result: every time you try it, you lose a piece of you.
You always expect so much from yourself that you even stop recognizing your successes, obscuring them with the next goal, thinking you are not good enough. The pursuit of perfection is haunting you.
In the frantic race to find and achieve everything, you forget the truest, most intimate you, you neglect it and become deaf to its every attempt to re-emerge. You get lost and you don't even allow yourself to ask for directions to find your way. If you're used to portraying yourself as the strongest one, but your solidity is starting to falter, don't wait for the floor to completely collapse under your feet before changing something. Part of being strong is knowing how to set limits, learning when to stop before breaking apart completely. You are not perfect and luckily you never will be. That armor you built around yourself is starting to crack: it had to happen sooner or later, even to you who have always considered yourself so untouchable. No one can remain indifferent to the sufferings of life for too long. It is not possible. Whether you want it or not, you are a human being and human beings, however strong, are imperfect by nature. It is what makes us unique and unrepeatable. The time has come to ask for help Even the strongest person in the world will need help sooner or later. Failure has nothing to do with it, it is an act of extreme courage to admit that you can't do it on your own. After years spent perfecting yourself and creating an unattainable idea of yourself, here you really begin to recognize who you are. You have always been the first to reach out when someone needed you, you sacrificed your time and well-being for that of others and now, finally, it's your turn. It's time you let others take care of you. Take the first step Whether it's a friend, relative or a colleague, you will always have to be the one to take the first step. The happy mask you've been wearing all this time has prevented people who love you from seeing your real face. You anesthetized those around you with your "all right" or "do not worry" and you pushed away those who could help you most. You have worked so hard to show that you are unbeatable that you have begun to believe it yourself, belittling your problems as passing thoughts that do not give the slightest importance. The more you let this idea work its way, the more difficult the path to recovery will be. Ask for help, you will be surprised to discover how many like you suffer every day from problems they do not show.
Allow yourself to be wrong
Don't make the mistake thinking that you are not allowed to make a mistake. They will make you appreciate the most beautiful moments and from the mistakes you make you will discover new sides to yourself and continue working on yourself. You are a being in constant evolution, so you should allow yourself to make mistakes. The pressure you have felt for so long, having to always be flawless, comes first and foremost from you. Stop asking yourself the impossible, get out of the vortex of constant dissatisfaction. Make a mistake, cry, indulge in different choices: break the chain. You will be surprised how much you will learn about yourself. This is your true strength, not the distance between you and the world, but the openings you leave to bring positive experiences and people into your life. It's time, stop being perfect and start being happy.
