Intuition is the very quiet and calm voice that can not be confused with anything. It always provides us with the best answers to the most important questions in our lives.
Let's start from the beginning. What is the “inner voice”?
The “inner voice” is you, and this voice is real. We hear it when we look into the most secluded corner of our soul, which allows us to hear our intuition. This also allows us to identify and feel the difference between this voice and all other internal monologues, which are sometimes conducted inside our head.
These monologues, as a rule, are nothing more than the voice of our ego - very loud, with constantly changing opinions. If we allow it to do this, the ego will easily drown out the tender voice of our intuition and will not bring us anything new. Indeed, for the most part, the ego is concerned about control, convenience, security, excessive responsibility, recognition, approval and self-importance. I repeat, ego does not tell us anything new and unexpected, but only comments on our thoughts, feelings and actions.
But a real, deep inner voice connects us to the higher and wiser level of consciousness that exists outside of our mind and emotions. Its presence can be recognized by such qualities as acceptance, sympathy, joy, peace, enthusiasm, forgiveness, gratitude, as well as unconditional love. When you experience these positive feelings and sensations, you know that you are listening to your inner voice, and not something else. And the best part is that this incredibly high level of consciousness is literally accessible for everyone, because it is part of our true, deepest personality. Tempting, isn't it? And it is our inner voice, when we finally force ourselves to listen to it, that is able to inspire us and direct us on the path of truth.
But how can we recognize the inner voice of our intuition? After listening to the voice that says something in your mind, ask yourself the following questions:
What is that voice trying to tell me? What words does it use? How do I feel when I listen to it?
And then ask yourself this:
Do you feel anxious while listening to this voice? Are you uneasy, are you prone to making judgments? Do you feel upset, embarrassed, scared or even stupid? Does it make you feel unworthy or unloved? If your answer is “yes” to any of these questions, then you are not listening to the inner voice of your intuition. Most likely, this is just the voice of your ego or inner critic, insistently demanding your attention. Because at the moment you are experiencing strong mental or emotional turbulence, and your mind is occupied with thoughts related to complex issues, unexpected events or the need for choice. When our minds are overwhelmed with emotions associated with pain, anger, irritation, frustration or fear, it is not so easy to switch from the negative state to the positive one. So what do we do? How can we calm down all these completely different aspects of ourselves so that we can finally hear our inner voice in silence and tranquility? Here are five steps that I take to “connect” to my inner voice. You can repeat them the same. First, I create a sort of sacred place, a kind of altar for myself. Not in a religious sense - it's just a specific place in my house where I go when I need to hear my inner voice. This place should be secluded, safe, and no one should bother me there. I light candles there and put my favorite stone or mineral, as well as any object that has special significance for me. This should be a place where I feel positive energy. After that, I provide myself with complete silence and peace. I eliminate all distractions, such as TV, radio, computer and mobile phones. I create a real silence around myself, trying to achieve the absence of any sounds or noise. I create for myself an external environment in which silence provides an opportunity to look into the depths of the soul, allowing me to hear my inner voice more clearly. After that, I pray. By this I establish a connection with higher powers. And I ask them for strength, direction on the right path and support in my endeavors. This allows me to resonate with a higher consciousness, far wiser and more knowledgeable than my everyday consciousness. This stage may be different for you, as everybody needs to find his or her source of faith. But, it is not so important where exactly you find your source of faith - the main thing is that this really should be something you feel is bigger than yourself. I enter into resonance with my spiritual side in order to find peace and tranquility. When I seek to hear my inner voice, I also seek to hear the voice of the Lord, God or higher powers. I ask my inner voice for help. When looking for ways to solve a serious problem, or to make a difficult decision - at such moments I really need to hear my inner voice. So I'm trying to take a neutral position, and open my heart and mind so that they are not attached to anything. And each time I repeat the phrase "May this action or answer be for the benefit of everyone around".
And finally, I meditate and do breathing exercises.
I do this in order to cleanse the soul and mind of emotions and unnecessary thoughts. I use a variety of breathing exercises. The purpose of the breathing exercises is to help your body and mind relax completely. Remember how our parents taught us that we should calm our minds and emotions so that we can “hear what we think.” And you know what? They were absolutely right! This process requires peace of mind, silence and listening skills, and over time, all this becomes a familiar ritual, which you will do every time, in order to hear your inner voice. Remember the main thing: you can recognize your inner voice aka intuition by the fact that it is loving and benevolent - there is not a single trace of judgments in it. Not a trace of negativity! Its advice is always constructive and positive. You may well consider your inner voice to be the voice of your soul. It always wants the best for you.
