Memories of the past and fear of the future can poison our lives. Focusing on it prevents us from focusing on our daily tasks and increases our anxiety, which negatively affects our quality of life.
But few people know that the great philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer offered a very simple and wise solution that can address this anxiety. In this article, we will tell you about it.
Ancient philosophers  and modern psychologists say that one should learn to live in the present, not tormenting himself with memories of the past and fear of the future. Here is Seneca, for example: "It is only the present that true, only it is the current time, and only in flows our being. Therefore, one should always be friendly to it and consciously enjoy every  minute, free from trouble and pain; one should not overshadow such moments with regret of unfulfilled dreams or worries about the future".

But how do we do it? We understand this with our minds, but how do we get the brain to work in the right direction so as not to cloud over the only real time for us - the present? And here again it is better to turn to the great and wise people.

Seneca said: "every day is a new life." Schopenhauer developed this idea: "Every day represents the entire life in miniature: awakening and rising is birth, every fresh morning is youth, and falling asleep is death". If you try to treat each day in this way, it will be filled with new colors. Just imagine: every day is a new life! A new life! And in the evening it will be over. That's it, it's gone. So what's there to feel sorry for? In the morning, there'll be another one that again ends in the night. So why worry about it in advance? There's only one day - always and everyone has only one day.
Schopenhauer highlights the morning of the day because it's the youth of life. Just imagine - every day we live the youth of our life regardless of our age! And every day we "die" falling asleep, which is also good - so every day we have a chance to start life over - because tomorrow will be morning again. "Morning is a good time for everyone in general, both mental and physical, without exception. Morning is the youth of the day - everything is joyful, cheerful, and easy; we feel strong and have a good command of our abilities. We should not shorten it by getting up late, spending it useless activities or chitchat, but see it as the quintessence of life, something sacred.
