Talking about the freedom of the soul, the freedom of each and every soul from any ties, is something wonderful. But it doesn't seem to be possible according to the law of Karma.
According to the Laws of the Universe, i.e, the rules and laws of Karma (Sanskrit Kr, which means action) every action corresponds to a reaction. Everything we think, do, or say generates a reaction (stimulus=response): from this comes the cause-effect principle.
Nothing exists independently, everything is connected and related. Nothing happens by chance. Every time we move even a small element in space, this movement will produce a reaction on the previously determined balance of the "environment". Galileo Galilei, just to quote the great scientist, said we cannot pick a flower without the moon not noticing it... The environment assimilates the change and therefore generates a new equilibrium, regardless of the size of what we call the environment. It is about assimilation and accommodation.
According to the principles of Soul science, the Soul is obliged to pay off karmic debts. That is to say, our soul would have to pay off the debt that is the result of the more or less bad actions performed in previous lives.
The concept of the purification of the Soul - supported by certain disciplines and also by the religions contemplating reincarnation- would make sure that we reincarnate from life to life in order to purify our Soul through actions through which pay for the evil actions done against other living beings. Actions done with guilt.
From the very beginning our soul would be tainted by wickedness, evil, injustice, etc... and then it would purify itself more and more in subsequent lives. This is known as "cleansing". This would lead to a state of awareness and desire to improve ourselves by experiencing, unfortunately, suffering. To change ourselves means to modify our actions, our way of treating others. The right and adequate verb, in this sense, would be: Love, unconditional love. Love comes from Sanskrit word Kama= to attract, to desire, etc... which has the same origin as the word Karma. The law of attraction means exactly this. If we love, we attract love. If we hate, we attract hate, etc. But if we love, we are loved, if we desire, we are desired. If this is the case, can we think that our soul is free, without chains of any kind? It seems obvious that it is bound to the body. At least until it becomes completely pure. When will our soul be completely free? Only when we have paid off our debt. Some scholars say, we also carry in our DNA the karmic debt of our ancestors, not just our own. Healing the family tree is possible through the use of many disciplines that include meditation, sobriety of the psyche, and respectful contact with nature.
It is important to become aware of our short (if we consider the eternity of the universe) but important life. If we are in harmony with ourselves, our body also benefits. Moreover, the people near us "feel" us, breathe our "air" and share the emotions that we give out. We are all connected and we should never forget this.
In this regard, we should thank our Soul that carries the weight of our mistakes, our wrongdoings and our irresponsibility. It has a heavy task and we can help it in the best possible way, but only if we want to become aware of it. To have respect for oneself and for others is an act of real love. To ourselves and to those who share with us our earthly experience.
