Sometimes it lasts all day. Sometimes two. Sometimes it's such a bad month or a bad year. Sometimes it is because someone broke your heart. Sometimes it’s just because it’s winter and everything is gloomy.
Sometimes this is because your friend has just got promoted at work or experienced incredible success, and you are still sitting in the same place, not making progress, wanting to feel happy for them, but you cannot and instead feel the shame; and they ask you what kind of person you are if you can’t be happy for your friend?
But whether it is because of the success of a friend or because of your own broken heart or because you cannot go on a summer vacation - you are not the first person to feel all this, and not the last.
Today we want to introduce you a step-by-step guide that will help you stop feeling miserable! But there are some things you can do to try to brighten up your days a bit - to make your home a more comfortable place and to do what makes you not feel alone! But there is no way that you could simply get rid of bad feelings easily! What you can do is be kinder to yourself. It means a lot of different things. This means being gentle with yourself and doing everything under your control to maintain your comfort, for example, have a regular sleep, take time to relax when you need it, go for a walk, eat the right and nurturing food, seek help from relatives when all gets really hard! Being kind to yourself, especially when you are unhappy, can also mean a lot, and can alleviate your pains or sorrow. Get out of bed and force yourself to go to work, no matter how cold or gloomy outside is, or how sad you are in your heart. Make yourself exercise, even if this is the last thing you want to do. You should accept your friend’s offer to go somewhere, even if the only thing you want is to be alone! You have to do it, do all these hard things when you feel miserable. You must be strong, you must take care of yourself. You have to keep moving, you have to keep going. People who managed to overcome this feeling were not better than you or stronger. They felt just as weak and unhappy, they were also sad. BUT, they kept going.
It’s not your fault that you feel miserable. You are not a freak or a loser. You are not lazy and you are not looking for attention. You are a human being. And since you are a human, sometimes you may experience painful, almost crippling periods of misfortune and sadness! Sometimes there are reasons for this, and sometimes not.
But all you need to remember is that you are a person, you are fine, you are not mistaken when you feel this. You must be kind to yourself, and you must be kind enough! And above all, you must remember that you are not alone, you are never alone, and this is exactly what connects you with every other person in this world!
