You gain happiness when you give it freedom. When you stop associating it with certain things and people. When you let it just come your way and find you.
It seems to us that happiness is always about getting something: the job we dream about, the car, the clothes or the person we like. We believe that having something can make us happy right away, so we try our best to get it as soon as possible.
But the more often my attempts to get a thing turned out to be unsuccessful, the more I realized that happiness can be associated not only with acquisitions but also with losses. Sometimes that thing you desperately want can destroy you in the long run.
Sometimes it's enough to let go of everything in order to be happy. Stop fighting for something, stop being obsessed with something you can't control. Sometimes happiness is about letting go of someone you love. Because you don't have to constantly prove yourself to be the one who cares more, somebody who invest more, or somebody who breaks down themselves in order to maintain a relationship. Sometimes the precussor of happiness is a momentary sadness
And in order to become happy, you just have to relax and let what you feared most happen. Because, as you know, anything that doesn't kill us makes us stronger. And thanks to this experience, you will understand that you can survive even in the most difficult situations, you will learn to fight your fears and overcome your doubts. Sometimes fate gives you the opposite of what you dreamed of. All so that you can get out of your comfort zone, to adjust your life path and life in general.
Sometimes the feeling of happiness comes in our darkest periods, when we feel gratitude for those few things that we have and do well. When you try to laugh at the irony of your destiny and when you learn to enjoy the simplest moments that you used to think of as something ordinary you took for granted. Sometimes, in order to feel happy, you need to lose all hope and get rid of all the imposed rules and plans. You find happiness when you stop looking for it. When you stop running after those who could never love you. When you no longer pretend to be able to control your future. Or when you stop thinking that happiness is something you can predict.
Sometimes, in order to be happy, you have to lose what you've been dreaming of.
You gain happiness when you give it freedom. When you stop associating it with certain things and people. When you just let it come your way. And happiness tends to come when you stop caring about what is going on around you and start thinking about what is going on inside you.
